Young Rock has been renewed for Season 3 by NBC

Young Rock, The NBC series, which covers different eras of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s life, has been given the green light for a third season, according to a new report from Limit Thursday. The show’s second season focused on three time periods – 1983 when Johnson’s father, Rocky, found success and challenges in the WWF, 1987 while Johnson was in high school in Nashville and 1996 when Johnson failed to find success in the Canadian Football League. To enter the world of professional wrestling.

A recent episode showed ’96 Johnson (played by Uli Latukefu) undergoing a demo match with the WWF, which featured actors portraying wrestling legends such as Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Mick Foley and Triple H. The WWF debut will also be shown on pay-per-view 1996 Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden.

Brian Gewirtz, former WWE lead writer and executive producer for the show, confirmed in an interview with ComicBook ahead of season two that if he gets a third season, it will cover Johnson’s time in the famous WWE “Attitude Era.” Thanks to his rivalries with Austin and Triple H, Johnson became one of the company’s most prominent stars, holding several main events at WrestleManias and winning nine world championships before making his way to Hollywood to work in acting.

“Oh, sure,” Gewirtz said regarding the Attitude Era in Season 3. “Oh, sure, we strategically put a quick little second of a clip right there in the new trailer, sort of like Princess Leia in the trailer for The Force Awakens. We just wanted to give a quick, ‘Hey! My God, what’s that?” Moment watching Rocky Maivia go big on Survivor Series ’96. We’ve got to that and maybe more stuff this season without really giving away anything. Hopefully we can get through Season 3 and beyond, at least in That schedule with Uli (Latukefu), really figured it out. Uli, who plays 23-year-old Dwayne, is really just a weirdo. He’s taken to wrestling so fast that if Vince was [McMahon] I wanted to take a look at him and bring him to WWE, I’m sure he will be successful very quickly. I don’t think he will. But if he wants to, maybe he can.”
